Small and unassuming yet quaint and pristine, Minersville Utah is a darling little town at the intersection of Highway 21 and Highway 130 in Beaver County Utah. Originally settled in 1859 at the direction of Brigham Young, Minersville originally was known for its lead mining hence the name. The population grew slowly over the years and even by the 1930s, Minersville only had about 800 residents. The city is nestled in South Central Beaver County in the mountain foothills north of the Black Mountains, Southwest of Mineral Mountains, and at the northwest perimeter of the Escalante Desert.

Minersville Schools

Residents of Minersville are part of the Beaver County school system and students typically attend Minersville school, which serves grades kindergarten through sixth grade and Beaver high school about 18 miles away in Beaver for grades 7 through 12. Minersville school actually receives excellent ratings, despite its size.

Living in Minersville

Even though the area is small, it does have a downtown market, a few services, churches, a post office, and the beautiful Beaver River which runs through town as well as the Minersville canal. Homes are spread out throughout the community and just west of town or multiple farms and agricultural lots. The majority of residential homes are located within the boundary lines of downtown.

Minersville Reservoir

The Minersville Reservoir is probably one of the best outdoor activities in the area. Residents, guests, and visitors enjoy year-round boating, fishing, camping, and water sports. The local campground offers a dock, boat ramp, culinary water, electric hookups, restrooms with hot showers, RV dump, fish cleaning stations, and 29 campsites around the 1130 acre Minersville Reservoir.
