Relocating to Parwan Utah

Parowan is located along Interstate 15 just south of Paragonah and about 20 miles north of Cedar City. It's nestled at the interchange of Highway 143 and Gap Road in the interstate. It was the first incorporated city in Iron County dating back to 1851. The initial hub was a fort constructed on the east side of Center Creek as a development of ironworks in the region. It served as the agricultural support base for local iron industry but eventually, the ironworks were decommissioned. It grew slowly but significant growth occurred in the 1990s typically attributed to the affordability utility fees and economic climates. It's the site of the annual Iron County Fair on Labor Day weekend and hosts the Utah Summer Games and is a sponsor of the annual "Christmas in the Country" celebration each November.

Parowan is known for Heritage Park, a local historical site that includes a grotto, pond, and commemoration statues with the founders of the city. There are several other historical sites including the original town square with the Old Rock Church, the War Memorial, and the Rose Garden.

Parowan Schools

Residents are part of the Iron County School District and most students attend Parowan elementary school for grades kindergarten through sixth, Parowan high school for grades seven through 12 or Cedar City High school for grades nine through 12. Often middle school students split between those two high schools. However, the elementary school through sixth grade receives a 8 out of 10 by great and receives high rankings and reviews from parents and students alike.
